Well last weekend was busy. Very. Busy.
Last Friday Harley Man, Oscar and I drove back to Gillette, Wyoming to get the rest of our "beloved stuff" we can't live without. Really, we can't. I have all of the boxes here in the new house to prove we can't do it. We didn't even bring most of our furniture. Just the stuff. If you know me, ya know I seriously can't live without my holiday dishes and decor. Well, I can but prefer not too. After two months of living in the "green room" to the stars and then a camper for four days I did prove I can live without it. For about that long. That's it. Miss Pippi Jackpot and Mr. Pretzel Potpie went to the "spa" and I was ready to put the miles on Spud and get this move over with.

We drove all day Friday and arrived in the evening pretty tired. Oscar was excited to chase the one squirrel and rabbit in our yard. Harley Man and I were weary and ready to have a beer and order pizza and get to bed. Earlier I was thinking I would probably start packing the kitchen but after that long of a drive we weren't in the mood to look at anything but the beautiful view from our deck. I'm going to miss that view.

Now, in the midst of planning this move we thought we'd pack all day Saturday and leave very early Sunday morning. After all, we weren't planning on taking furniture. It should be easy peasy. Right. That's what we were thinking. Wrong. We packed all day Saturday into Saturday night. And all day Sunday. We were done around 6:00pm. I wanted to call some friends to meet for drinks before the final move but there was no way. Absolutely no way. I couldn't even lift my eyelids I was so tired. Plus it was an early call Monday to get on the road. Road Warriors need to be in top condition and not sleep deprived.
Monday morning I was awake at 2:55am. My alarm was scheduled for 3:15am. I thought it was fitting since that was around the time I used to to wake up when I worked at the station. We got up and got around at 3:25am and were on the road at 4:57am.

| Not sure if I'd take my car here for service. |
Looking at the positive side, we will have those friends for life and we can't wait to have them walking through our front door of our home. There is so much to do here, being so close to Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago. And Elkhorn is a beautiful small town, very close to Lake Geneva. Harley Man loves his job, we have a beautiful home, and we have Oscar, the dog we rescued while living in Gillette. In a way he rescued us.
That's it for the night, I have a busy day tomorrow, unpacking more "stuff" and looking for a job.
Thanks for reading.
Melody
xoxo
